BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF LEARNING LEVELS:
MINIS
In a playful way, the youngsters become more familiar with
the snow, getting around in the snow with equipment they're
not used to and learning to ski safely in a straight line.
Level ONE
On Level ONE, the children learn how to use the snowplow technique
in order to brake safely. With that, they have the first
big hurdle under their belt.
Level TWO
On Level TWO, the children become more comfortable with the
snowplough and learn to turn in snowplow position. They also learn
how to ride the lifts correctly. Once learned, there's nothing
more standing in the way of their first downhill run.
Level THREE
On Level THREE, the children learn to alternate between a
wider and narrower snowplough, in other words, to change from
fast to slow skiing. As a result, they can now ski
in moderately steep terrain using the snowplough technique.
Level FOUR
On Level FOUR, they learn the snowplough turn, closing
the skis after every turn, meaning that parallel turns are no
longer far away.
Level FIVE
On Level FIVE, children learn to set their skis in a
parallel position when turning (in closed position on the fall
line). The skis are closed earlier and earlier, and they
have now almost made their first parallel turn.
Level SIX
On Level SIX, the children learn the parallel turn and how
to use poles correctly. They also learn, of course, to
control their speed.
Level SEVEN
On Level SEVEN, the children learn to make parallel turns in
moderately steep terrain, now beginning to use a much tighter
turn radius.
Level EIGHT
On Level EIGHT, they will learn to carve, i.e. riding their
edges without slipping.
Level NINE
Children on Level NINE learn to perfect those short turns
and practice in steep terrain.
Level TEN
On Level TEN, the children put together all the techniques
they have learned, also getting to practice in deep snow and
on a moguls hill.
